Marine Electronics Design Technician. Qualified applicants must possess aptitude in design, from general conceptualizing to detailed drawing preparation, and should be familiar with and capable to work with all aspects of the design process, as well as preparing code for a CNC system. Strong competency with CAD software such as AutoCAD or BobCAD, and experience with G-Code preparation and optimization are required, with a minimum of 5 years of computer based design experience. The required individual must work well independently and with a design team and be able to work under tight deadlines, and must be willing to travel. Salary is negotiable with experience. Electrical and Electronics Design Technologist. MarineNav Ltd requires an Electrical and Electronics Design Technologist for immediate employment at our manufacturing facility near Montague, Prince Edward Island. Qualified applicants must have a minimum of 5 years experience in design & development, testing, and/or production in manufacturing, ideally in electronic equipment manufacturing. Experience with NC and CNC systems, Radar equipment, data communication equipment, radio communications equipment, navigation equipment and systems, programmable controller devices, and electronic testing equipment is required. Knowledge of technology including computer hardware, Windows, DOS, Linux, Unix, PDA, JavaOS, device drivers, networking hardware and software, office suite software (word processing, email, spreadsheets, desktop publishing, presentations), database, file, and server management, CAD and image editing software, project management software would all be valuable. Any database, software development, or programming knowledge would be an asset.

The successful applicant will assist in design, development and testing, prepare working drawings, operate CAD systems, and assist in building and testing prototypes to specifications. As well, they will assist in inspecting, testing, and adjusting electronic components, ensure quality control, calibrate electronic equipment and instruments, and provide technical support to the marketing and sales departments. The required individual must work well independently and with a design team and be able to work under tight deadlines in a fast paced environment. Problem solving, job organization and task planning, information searching, and communication and numeracy skills are essential. Must be willing to travel, both locally and internationally.

Marine Electronics Trainee. The required individual should be interested in a career in offshore electronics, and will be trained in the basics of computer/navigation electronics design and assembly. Some computer experience would be an asset. Applicant must possess a valid motor vehicle licence with a clean driving record and a minimum of a high school diploma. The required individual must work well in a team based environment, and should be able to work independently with minimal supervision at times. Manufacturer Sales Representative. MarineNav Ltd requires a Manufacturer Sales Representative with the credibility and credentials to move our world class marine computing and display systems to the forefront of the marine industry. This will include both the commercial and Military sectors. Qualified applicants will have well developed business ethics, be able to understand the needs of ships’ captains and engineers in regards to electronic vessel management and navigation requirements, and have strong familiarity with military and coast guard electronic equipment and standards.

The successful candidate would have experience with technical workings of shipboard electronics and a degree or diploma in electronics, and a demonstrated experience networking in the maritime industry, ideally in the military, coast guard, or commercial sectors. Experience in specifying and working with ship-board electronic systems and knowledge of maritime yacht industry trends are key qualifications. A thorough understanding of shipboard procedures, marine electrical standards, and marine electronics is essential, as well as competency with computer hardware and software and modern navigation and weather software applications.

The successful applicant will be able to provide references to vouch for on-board experience and to discuss his or her business background.
