Rackmount installations are convenient and flexible, but unfortunately, standard 19 inch racks take up a lot of room. Since smaller vessels do not have the luxury of extra space, but still need reliable and easily installed computer systems, MarineNav Ltd developed the Barracuda series. Our proprietary 12” rack uses a fraction of the space a 19” rack would require, but provides a robust framework and ease of installation.
The Barracuda 2 computer has been built from the ground up to provide the power of a full size computer in a chassis less than 3.5” tall. If you don’t want to install it in a rack, the system comes with surface/bulkhead mount brackets, and takes up less than one square foot of space.
The Barracuda 2 offers high performance in a compact system and multiple configurations to suit your particular needs. Dual core CPU, high performance VGA/DVI/HDMI video, slot loading DVD and 64 GB SSD system drive are standard. For maximum storage, the system supports two high-capacity 2 TB hard drives. For convenience and security, opt for two removable drives. Or for maximum flexibility, go with one of each. It’s up to you.
