MarineNav Ltd is first and foremost a research and development company. Our products have been designed from the ground up to meet and exceed the expectations of our customers. Customer expectations don’t stand still, though. Cutting edge technology today is obsolete tomorrow. To remain ahead of the curve, we continually strive to improve on our existing designs and move forward with new products.
Even though we design products for the future, our core strength is based on the extensive history, starting in Scotland twenty years ago, that company founder Kevan Merson and his design team bring to the company. These engineers and technicians are dedicated to continuous product innovation, staff training and quality workmanship.
Customer feedback is a vital component of our development process. We work with a number of partners to test our product in real world situations, installed on working vessels. These include law enforcement and commercial craft in multiple locations and environments.
While there is no substitute for real world user experience, we conduct extensive in-house product testing on all our products. Our assessment regime includes temperature stress-tests, 24 hour full-load burn-in trials, and moisture ingress testing. We even have a company-owned Rescue Craft (FRC) for live sea-trials and product development.
To further expand our R&D department, we are planning to develop an in-water product commissioning facility at a wharf located in not far from our company headquarters. Having a dedicated location will be invaluable for real-world product testing.
